The COVID-19 pandemic drastically changed how we navigate daily life, and the rollout of vaccines introduced its own set of challenges. Many people faced difficulties securing vaccine appointments due to the lack of a universal booking platform and the frustration of losing slots because of lengthy form-filling processes. Inspired by these pain points, my team and I developed the COVID-19 Vaccination Finder during a hackathon, aiming to simplify and improve the vaccine scheduling experience.

As the lead front-end developer, I played a pivotal role in bringing the project to life. I designed the layout of the webpage, ensuring elements were intuitively placed to guide users effortlessly through the process of checking their eligibility and booking appointments. I implemented responsive design concepts, making the platform accessible across various devices, and styled the interface using CSS to align with our envisioned design. To enhance functionality, I integrated Bootstrap form validation elements, ensuring users could input and submit information seamlessly.

Not to mention, this was my first-ever hackathon. I will never forget the thrill of pulling an all-nighter, the experience of presenting a demo in a sleep-deprived state, and the connections I made along the way. This hackathon not only kickstarted my career but also fueled my passion for solving real-world problems through technology. I'm indefinitely thankful for the memories, growth, and opportunities it brought into my life.
