Team: Office of Student Engagement
From August to December 2021, I had the privilege of working as a LEAD Corp Intern with the Office of Student Engagement at Western Michigan University. This role focused on empowering student organizations and informal groups through leadership program development, team-building, and outreach. As peer educators, we collaborated with diverse student groups to provide consultation and resources tailored to their growth and goals.
Through this program, I honed invaluable leadership skills, including moderating group discussions, navigating complex and sensitive situations, and fostering an environment that encouraged others to become leaders themselves. I learned how to facilitate impactful team-building sessions, manage conflict constructively, and cultivate a collaborative spirit within dynamic group settings. This internship not only refined my ability to lead but also reinforced the importance of empathy, adaptability, and effective communication in building strong, resilient teams.
